In this role, the BA will plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Business Analyst is also responsible for supporting the development process, and ensuring that project deliverables are met according to specifications. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsMeets with executive leadership, decision makers, business owners, technical owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issuesCollaborates with project managers and project sponsors to determine project scope and visionIdentifies project stakeholders and establish roles and responsibilities (process owners, change champions, etc.)Conducts interviews and product analysis to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methodsDevelops and utilizes standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirement specificationsTranslates conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project teamDevelops prototypes of interfaces and attributes based on findingsAnalyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standardsIdentifies and establishes scope and parameters of requirements analysis in order to define impact, outcome criteria, and measure-taking actionsWorks with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirementsCreates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project teamDevelops and conducts peer reviews to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpretedManages and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessaryCommunicates changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understoodResearches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processesAssists in conducting research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing effortsEstablishes practices and procedures that work towards the continuous improvement of the requirements processProvides guidance and/or instruction to junior staff membersQualificationsRequired QualificationsCollege diploma or university degree in software engineering, computer science, or business administration or equivalent work experience5 or more years in business analyst experience (Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development)Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language2 years direct experience in the creation of test scripts and the execution of testing such as Smoke, String, Unit, Load, System, QA, UAT, PIV, Regression or othersStrong knowledge of testing best practices and methodologiesExperience with testing web and desktop applicationsProven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent PC skills and technical fluencyFamiliarity with software and database development and network architectureExperience with formal project management methodologiesExemplary attention to detailDesired/Preferred QualificationsExperience with core software applications, including MS CRM, Sharepoint, MS GP, SQL Server 2005 and aboveExperience in overseeing the design, development, testing and implementation of software solutions, systems, or productsExperience importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow chartsExperience creating project charters, process diagrams, functional specifications, report layouts, training materials, use cases, and system text scriptsExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly languageAble to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentAbility to be self-motivating and work independentlyExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentAdditional InformationC1 BENEFITS401(k) Plan (35% employer match per dollar up to 10% employee contribution)Medical Coverage (3 platforms: UnitedHealthcare, Reference Based Pricing includes comprehensive member advocacy;
