Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our Enterprise Technology and Data team in Bangalore. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, data-driven solutions and applications across enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Quality Engineering, Automated Testing, and extensive hands-on experience with ETL processes and Azure Fabric. The role involves defining and implementing quality assurance processes, developing and maintaining automated tests, identifying risks, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of enterprise data systems.

You will work closely with data engineers, developers, and product managers to maintain the highest quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Planning & Execution:

Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scripts to validate data accuracy, integrity, and functionality across ETL pipelines, covering both functional and non-functional testing.

• Data Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across data platforms. Validate transformations and data integrity in ETL pipelines.

• Data Pipeline Testing:

Design and execute test cases for data pipelines running on Azure Fabric, ensuring proper transformation, integration, and storage of data.

• SQL Database Testing:

Develop and execute SQL-based automated tests for validating database integrity, performance, and security across multiple data sources.

• Performance Testing:

Conduct load and performance testing to assess scalability and stability of enterprise data systems.

• Automated Testing:

Build and maintain automated test frameworks for ETL, APIs, and data integration systems using industry-standard tools (e.g., Pytest, DBT, Airflow).

• Defect Tracking & Resolution:

Identify, log, and track defects to resolution, ensuring timely and effective communication with development and operations teams.

• Continuous Improvement:

Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance testing efficiency, reliability, and coverage.

• Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment:

Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align quality standards with business objectives.

• Mentorship:

Guide and support junior QA engineers, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of quality.

• Compliance & Standards:

Ensure adherence to industry best practices, security, and compliance standards related to data systems, ETL processes, and cloud technologies.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years in software quality engineering, with 3+ years in enterprise data environments.

• Proven hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Pytest, DBT, and API automation frameworks.

• Expertise in ETL testing, data warehousing, and data lake validation.

• Strong experience with Azure Cloud, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or similar data integration tools.

• Familiarity with event-driven streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Event Hubs).

• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data validation and test automation.

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Python, Java, SQL for automation and data validation.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.

• Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies and continuous testing practices.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps workflows.
