Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and cloud-based data processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines on GCP using Cloud Dataflow, Dataproc, Data Fusion, or Composer (Airflow).
  • Build and optimize data warehouses and data lakes using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
  • Implement data ingestion from multiple sources (databases, APIs, streaming).
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance through automated validation and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Optimize data models for analytics and reporting performance.
  • Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Implement security and compliance best practices for data access and storage.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer, Dataproc, Data Fusion, Cloud Storage)
  • Programming: Python, SQL (advanced level), Java or Scala (optional)
  • ETL Tools: Cloud Dataflow, Data Fusion, or Apache Beam
  • Databases: BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Firestore, or traditional RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Workflow Orchestration: Airflow / Composer
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Git, Jenkins / Cloud Build
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform / Deployment Manager
  • Bonus: Exposure to Kafka, Spark, Looker, or Dataform
