Join the Avi Application Load Balancer Webapp team which plays a pivotal role in architecting and developing the core components of the Avi Controller, with a primary focus on its high-performance REST API server, Certificate Management, Authentication/Authorization, & VCF ecosystem alignments . We're looking for a seasoned Staff Engineer to lead the development of scalable solutions for distributed systems and high-performance computing.

This is an on-site position in Bangalore, India, where you will be part of a larger cross-border team of smart and motivated engineers located both in Bangalore, India and Palo Alto, USA while enjoying the autonomy and support to express yourself creatively and deliver at your best.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and lead the design of scalable, high-performance software solutions for Controller API Server .
  • Develop, optimize and integrate services using GoLang,Python and Java.
  • Build and maintain robust integrations within the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) ecosystem.
  • Collaborate in large-scale distributed systems design discussions.
  • Champion and implement best practices in test-driven development to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Ensure project clarity with all stakeholders and team members.

Must have -

  • 8+ years of experience in software/data engineering, preferably within large-scale networking, cloud infrastructure, or data platforms.
  • Expertise in GoLang(primary), Java, and Python — with production-level experience in performance-critical systems.
  • Proven experience with web development frameworks and designing high-performance REST APIs.
  • Deep understanding of the fundamental design principles behind building scalable and resilient applications.
  • A track record of thriving in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes agile practices, peer code reviews, and comprehensive testing.

Nice to Have -

  • A strong background in networking; with proven experience in building high performance networking appliances
  • Hands-on experience with host, network, and application security principles and best practices.
