The Team
Deloitte Strategy Risk and Transactions (SRT) helps entities mitigate risk while discovering new opportunities to create value. Our end-to-end risk services span all domains, from managing strategic risks in the C-Suite to improving board oversight, and from balancing financial and environmental policies to addressing cyber threats. Deloitte's Regulatory and Financial Risk Practice (RFR) supports global banks across all aspects of quantitative services across the 3 LoD.

Key Responsibilities:
- Model Development:
Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining quantitative models across various domains including business forecasting, planning, pricing, risk management models (retail, wholesale credit risk, market risk, counterparty credit risk), AML/KYC, AI/Gen AI etc. Work spans multiple asset classes and business lines, leveraging advanced mathematical techniques such as stochastic processes, optimization, and statistical inference to address complex modelling challenges. - Model Lifecycle Responsibility:
Strong understanding of the model lifecycle and framework, from development, testing, documentation (in line with SR 11-7 standards), ongoing monitoring, model KPIs, validation processes and experience of engagement with multiple stakeholders across the bank (both on shore and offshore). Strong understanding of SR 11-7, SS 1/23 model governance standards. - Model Validation:
The specialist will be responsible for the independent quantitative review and rigorous challenge of all models across domains. This involves verifying conceptual soundness, assessing model assumptions, and evaluating implementation accuracy. Key activities include statistical performance testing, scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and back-testing to ensure models meet defined risk coverage objectives and adhere to internal model risk management frameworks and regulatory expectations, while maintaining computational and operational viability. - Ongoing Monitoring:
Responsible for periodically substantiating the ongoing fitness of models in accordance with a model's approved Monitoring Plan Assess model changes, model limitations, assumptions, process verification and outcomes analysis for each model. Identify trends in key metrics and provide critical analysis of model performance with respect to metric thresholds; identify threshold breaches and review documented remediation plans. - Model implementation and Programming skills:
Understanding of model implementation into pricing libraries, strong SDLC understanding, ability to engage with both quants and IT stakeholders, strong understanding of programming concepts, code coverage, UAT, regression testing, ability to work proficiently with coding languages on a daily basis e.g. R, Python/Spark, SAS, SQL, R or other languages, strong data analytics skillset, data calibration, knowledge of JIRA and other release management tools. - Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure all model validation/ development activities meet regulatory standards (e.g., CRR, EBA RTS, upcoming Basel III/IV regulations, including FRTB) and internal governance policies. Prepare clear, concise development/ validation reports and presentations for risk committees, auditors, and regulators, articulating model limitations, assumptions, and validation outcomes.
