As part of our Commerce & Digital Experience Practice, you will work with some of the most exciting international brands in retail, fashion, and consumer technology.Role Overview We are looking for a Shopify Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong hands-on experience in and a passion for building world-class e-commerce experiences. You will drive the technical direction of Shopify projects, mentor the development team, and deliver custom storefronts, headless commerce solutions, and enterprise integrations. This is a key role where you'll work directly with architects, designers, and business stakeholders to create impactful customer journeys for global brands.Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Shopify SME for Softobiz's e-commerce initiatives, owning technical solutions end-to-end.
• Build and customize Shopify themes, Liquid templates, and apps to deliver engaging storefronts.
• Develop backends and APIs for seamless integration with ERP, CRM, OMS, and third-party systems.
• Implement headless commerce using Shopify Storefront API, GraphQL, Hydrogen/Remix, or
• Ensure code quality via Clean Architecture, reusable components, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with UX, design, and product teams to deliver responsive and scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring high availability and security compliance.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to Softobiz's e-commerce capability building.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven Shopify development experience (themes, apps, Liquid, Polaris).
• Strong hands-on expertise in , , REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, , HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend practices.
• Solid understanding of Shopify APIs (Admin, Storefront, Checkout, Payments).
• Experience with headless Shopify builds and storefront performance optimization.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and API integration workflows.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Shopify Plus, multi-storefront setups, and enterprise integrations.
• Exposure to Azure/AWS hosting, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud-native practices.
• Understanding of SEO, accessibility, and performance best practices.
• Prior experience in an agency/consulting environment delivering global e-commerce projects.
