Position Overview

We're looking for a
Senior Embedded Engineer (4–8 years)
who can take ownership of embedded design and firmware for our next‑gen eye‑tracking wearables and vision analytics devices. You'll lead board bring‑up, camera/sensor integration, and low‑latency firmware that talks to our on‑device ML stack. Expect hands‑on work—from schematics/PCB reviews and bench debug to production‑grade firmware and field validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own hardware bring-up for wearables & vision devices:
  power sequencing, clocks, boot, memory, and interface bring-up on custom PCBs (incl. rigid-flex for glasses form factors).
• Camera & sensor integration:
  select and integrate MIPI CSI-2/DVP cameras, lens/IR drivers, IMUs, ToF/ALS/photodiodes; implement sync, exposure/gain control, and basic ISP configuration with the firmware team.
• Board-level design partnership:
  review schematics/layout (Altium/KiCad), component selection, SI/PI/EMI considerations, connector/FPC choices, thermal and mechanical constraints for head-mounted devices.
• Low-level interfaces & buses:
  bring up and validate I²C/SPI/UART/GPIO/ADC/DAC/PWM,
  CAN/CAN-FD
  , USB (as applicable); define robust protocol handling and diagnostics.
• Validation & test:
  create test plans, fixtures, and calibration flows for cameras/sensors; perform lab debug with DSO/LA/power analyzers; characterize latency, image quality, and power.
• Reliability & compliance:
  drive ESD/EMC pre-compliance, environmental/aging tests, and root-cause analysis from field logs; implement corrective actions.
• Productionization:
  support EVT/DVT/PVT builds, factory flashing/OTA provisioning, yield analysis, and failure triage with CMs/vendors.
• Firmware collaboration (as needed):
  provide bring-up notes/BSP requirements; write basic diagnostics in C/C++ or Python to validate hardware and drivers.
• Documentation & mentoring:
  maintain hardware bring-up guides, test procedures, and BOM/risk logs; mentor junior engineers and align with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Bachelors or Masters (Preferred) in relevant field of engineering
  with
  4+ years
  hands-on embedded hardware/systems experience with at least one shipped product.
• Strong PCB experience: multilayer high-speed design, power delivery, rigid-flex for wearables, SI/PI basics.
• Proven
  camera & sensor
  integration for real-time vision (MIPI CSI-2/DVP, sensor control over I²C, synchronization, basic ISP tuning/config).
• Proficiency with MCU platforms (STM32/ESP32/NXP/Nordic/TI): bring-up via JTAG/SWD; reading schematics and debugging at the bench.
• Interfaces/protocols: I²C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PWM, ADC/DAC, and
  CAN/CAN-FD
  ; ability to validate link reliability on hardware.
• Lab skills: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power profiling; methodical test planning and fault isolation.
• Ability to collaborate closely with firmware—comfortable writing/using diagnostics (C/C++ or Python) to verify hardware—even if you are hardware-leaning.
• Clear documentation, vendor/CM communication, and ownership mindset.
