Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled SBC Specialist to join our team, with expertise in Ribbon SBC at a Tier 3 level, AudioCodes SBC at a Tier 3 level, and Oracle SBC at a Tier 2 level. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Session Border Controllers (SBCs) in a multi-vendor environment. The role also requires a strong understanding of Carrier Circuits and SIP Protocol to ensure seamless voice and video communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and support Ribbon SBC solutions at a Tier 3 level to manage SIP sessions effectively.
  • Provide advanced support and troubleshooting for AudioCodes SBC at a Tier 3 level.
  • Maintain and support Oracle SBC at a Tier 2 level.
  • Implement and manage carrier circuit connectivity and integrations.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot SIP signaling and media flows, ensuring high availability and security of voice networks.
  • Collaborate with network, voice, and application teams to optimize SBC performance and ensure interoperability.
  • Monitor SBC performance and perform firmware upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to SBC architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Support incident management, root cause analysis, and provide resolution for complex SBC-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards regarding security and operational practices.
Key Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of Ribbon SBC architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting at a Tier 3 level.
  • Strong experience with AudioCodes SBC setup and problem resolution at a Tier 3 level.
  • Proficient with Oracle SBC operations and support at a Tier 2 level.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SIP Protocol (Session Initiation Protocol) including SIP signaling, headers, and message flows.
  • Familiarity with carrier circuits, including T1/E1, PRI, SIP Trunks, and other telecommunication circuit types.
  • Experience in VoIP protocols (RTP, SRTP) and codecs (G.711, G.729, etc.).

Networking & Protocols:

  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts including VLAN, QoS, NAT, firewall traversal, and security best practices in SBC environments.
  • Experience with SIP troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, SIPp, or similar.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex voice network issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Documentation and reporting skills for clear communication of technical details.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications related to Ribbon, AudioCodes, or Oracle SBC solutions.
  • Experience with cloud SBCs or hybrid environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with telephony systems (e.g., Cisco UCM, Avaya, Microsoft Teams Direct Routing).
