As more brands focus on optimization rather than blind scaling, we're expanding our CRO team and need a Shopify Developer who can build fast, convert-focused experiences.

The Challenge

Most eCommerce brands lose revenue due to slow sites, confusing layouts, broken UX, and weak CRO implementation.

This role exists to fix those leaks by improving Shopify performance and executing A/B tests that directly impact conversions.

Your work will ensure:

• Faster sites

• Smooth, bug-free CRO experiments
• Higher conversion rates across key funnels

This is a high-impact role that directly affects client results.

What You'll Own

You will be responsible for building, optimizing, and debugging Shopify sites while supporting CRO execution. Your work will turn strategy into measurable outcomes.

Core Ownership Areas

• Develop and customize Shopify themes, pages, sections, and templates
• Build clean UI/UX components with Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Fix bugs, layout issues, and responsive errors
• Improve site speed, performance, and mobile experience
• Implement and validate A/B tests (design variations, layouts, offers)
• Ensure test accuracy, QA, and smooth rollouts
• Reduce bounce rate, improve user flow, and support CRO team insights
• Maintain clean code structure and version control
• What Success Looks Like (90–180 Days)

Within 3–6 months, a successful Shopify Developer will have:

• Improved site speed scores and reduced load time across multiple client stores
• Successfully launched 10–20 A/B tests with clean implementations and reliable data
• Reduced UX issues and fixed recurring theme glitches
• Delivered smooth, high-quality templates and sections with zero conflicts
• Become the go-to person for Shopify technical execution within the CRO team

Must-Haves (and How We Assess Them)

Requirements

• 2+ years of Shopify development experience
• Strong in Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience with A/B testing setup (Google Optimize, VWO, Convert, or custom)
• Speed optimization knowledge (minification, lazy loading, theme cleanup)
• Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of CRO basics and user behavior
• Ability to work independently with accountability

Proof Methods

• Code review test or short technical task
• Walk-through of a Shopify project you built or optimized
• Short discussion on how you've approached performance improvements or A/B tests

Nice-to-Haves

(Not required, but a plus)

• Experience with Shopify Plus
• Familiarity with GA4, GTM, Clarity, or Hotjar
• Experience with landing page frameworks
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices
• Experience working with eCommerce brands

Work Style & Cadence

• Remote-first, async-friendly
• Clear weekly priorities, daily communication on Slack/ClickUp
• Work closely with CRO strategists and media buying team
• Minimal meetings, focus on execution, speed, and clean delivery
• Ownership mindset: take responsibility for delivering outcomes, not just tasks
