Lead Cloud Engineer - Kubernetes Optimization

Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned and Senior DevOps Engineer lead to lead our customer-facing Kubernetes optimization practice. In this role, you will own the end-to-end engagement with customers—assessing their existing Kubernetes footprint, designing autoscaling strategies using Karpenter (for node provisioning & scaling), Goldilocks (for pod-level resource optimization) and KEDA (for workload-level scaling), and ensuring reliable, cost-efficient operation at scale.

You will build and manage a team of DevOps/Platform Engineers who partner with customer engineering teams to implement these solutions, track performance, and iterate on continuous improvement.

Requirements:

· years of hands-on DevOps or Platform Engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a team-management or leadership role.

· years of customer facing and direct engagement ownership is mandatory.

·      Proven track record managing Kubernetes optimization projects

·      Hands-on experience configuring and tuning Karpenter provisioners: defining provisioner constraints, node templates, and consolidation settings.

·      Proficiency in CI/CD toolchains (Argo CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and infrastructure as code (Terraform) for provisioning Kubernetes clusters and autoscaling controllers.

·      Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS EKS, GKE, AKS, or self-managed) and Linux networking/storage components (CNI plugins, CSI drivers).

·      Demonstrated ability to measure and optimize cost: tracking node utilization, rightsizing instance families, and leveraging spot or preemptible instances via Karpenter.

·      Exceptional project management and organizational skills—able to juggle multiple customer engagements and ensure each meets SLA commitments.

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting technical optimization strategies to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.

·      Customer-centric mindset: adept at guiding client teams through change management and ensuring high satisfaction.
