Role & responsibilities
- Establish and maintain harmonious relations between factory management and workers.
- Address worker grievances to management for prompt resolution and act as a liaison.
- Understand labor perspectives to help management shape labor policies and communicate them effectively to workers.
- Advise management on statutory obligations related to health, safety, and employee welfare as per the Factories Act, 1948.
- Assist in regulatory compliance regarding working hours, maternity benefits, and welfare measures.
- Support management in maintaining a safe work environment where a Safety Officer is not required.
- Encourage the formation of committees and supervise their activities.
- Advocate for amenities like canteens, rest shelters, and hygiene facilities.
- Aid management in leave regulation and explain leave provisions to workers.
- Advise on welfare facilities, housing, and education for workers' children.
- Guide training for new employees and promote educational attendance.
- Suggest measures to enhance workers' living standards and overall well-being.
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and welfare provisions
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathy and problem-solving attitude
- Proficiency in record maintenance and reporting
- Ability to work in a factory environment
