Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The selected candidate will take full ownership of the design, engineering, and technical calculations for belt conveyor systems in bulk material handling applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed engineering calculations for belt conveyors, including power requirement, belt tension, pulley and shaft sizing.
  • Develop conceptual layouts, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent CAD tools.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant international standards (CEMA, ISO, DIN, etc.).
  • Select suitable components — gearboxes, motors, pulleys, idlers, scrapers — based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement, fabrication, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of design deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM), supporting accurate cost estimation.
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients and consultants, and provide design clarifications.
  • (Optional Advantage) Apply Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) to validate designs.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related di

scipline.

Experience:
Minimum 3 years in the design of belt conveyors or bulk material handling systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks/Inventor.
  • Strong Excel skills, particularly for engineering calculation sheets.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and industrial drafting standards.
  • Soft Skills: Analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, strong communication and coordination skills.
