to lead a team building the File Storage & Processing capabilities in the Data Integration Platform org — the backbone of Alteryx's connectivity and data movement capabilities across cloud and on-prem environments.

In this role, you'll lead and grow a high-performing engineering team responsible for designing, building, and scaling the backend services and frameworks that enable secure, performant, and scalable file processing for our enterprise customers.

You'll partner closely with Product, Architecture, and other Platform teams to define and deliver on the roadmap that powers data connectivity and integration experiences across Alteryx's product suite.

This is a
people + platform leadership role
with significant impact and visibility across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, grow, and mentor a team of backend/platform engineers building scalable data integration capabilities for the Alteryx platform.
  • Partner with Product Management and Architecture to define long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Data Integration Platform.
  • Drive execution excellence — ensuring high-quality, performant, and secure software delivery through sound engineering practices.
  • Represent the team externally — communicating progress, challenges, and priorities to leadership and partner teams.
  • Identify and resolve process gaps to improve team velocity, quality, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Engage in high-level technical discussions — assess tradeoffs, highlight risks and unknowns, and ensure technical alignment across teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, empowerment, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with distributed teams across geographies (US, Europe, and other regions).

Qualifications
Required:

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, progressing through the technical career ladder.
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams or managing people in a software engineering context.
  • Strong experience building backend or platform services, preferably in Java stack for mid-sized B2B Enterprise SaaS companies.
  • Hands-on experience and deep familiarity with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, and grow engineers, and to build strong, inclusive team culture.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — capable of representing the team with clarity and confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and improve engineering and delivery processes.
  • Strong technical judgment — able to contribute meaningfully to system design and architecture discussions.

Preferred / Nice To Have

  • Experience in the data integration, connectivity, or data movement domain.
  • Experience working with global teams across time zones and cultures.

What You'll Get

  • The opportunity to shape the data integration platform powering Alteryx's transformation into a cloud, AI-native data platform.
  • The chance to lead through scale, growing your impact across product, technology, people, and process dimensions.
  • A collaborative, inclusive, and empowering work environment that values Accountability, Equality, Empowerment, Customer First, and Integrity.
