What's The Role
The Supply Chain Data Analyst is responsible and accountable for the end-to-end (E2E) operational material master data maintenance in SAP, data quality, and support continuous improvement initiatives to deliver value through Process, Data & System for Integrated Gas, Upstream, Downstream business and Projects. This position will interface with multiple stakeholders across CP Operations, Supply Chain (SC) or CP-in-Business and across the e2e natural partners outside Process, Data & System e.g., IT, Accounts Payable etc.
Likewise, he/she must ensure the Data operating model delivers business value in the new macro context. This requires interfacing with various data stakeholders within and outside Shell Supply Chain Data team to develop and operate accurate and reliable SC that enables businesses to improve their financial performance, safeguard license to operate, and achieve data goals (e.g., availability, reliability, cost, etc.). Data must be reliable, trusted, and enable digitalization to allow Shell to maximize bottom line impact from operational spend and liberate time for asset-based business and SC colleagues.
What You'll Be Doing
- Create material master records (MMR) for various material and equipment types
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials for various material and equipment types
- Ensure business requirements are correctly prioritized and are met on time.
- Ensure completeness/correctness of data thru integrate business partners like suppliers/vendors and asset engineers, Technical Asset Support (TAS), inventory analysts, CP Operations, CP in business and other business functions.
- Implement data quality- related projects and improvement initiatives to deliver value that impacts the business bottom line.
- Drive early involvement in MMR development, where feasible, this is preferably done through annual plans agreed on with Technical Authorities, Category Managers, and other stakeholders
- Ensure Data Quality (Right First time, Data is Trusted) is in place
- Ensure operationalization of data designs that can eliminate waste, transform towards right-first time and strong data quality (DQ)
- Ensure disciplined daily execution of operational data processes across E2E SC to enable improvement and optimization, thus contributing to Shell targets for improved cost and delivery.
- Ensure that controls are consistently maintained, and risks are mitigated
- Identify areas for improvement, including root cause analysis, exceptions identification, and ideas for improvement and play active participation in improvement projects
- Demonstrate process expertise and business acumen with ability to play the role as the Shell Supply Chain Data expert for various business units
What You Bring
- Preferably with 1-3 years of experience managing Master Data within ERP systems (SAP preferred), ideally gained in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of navigating and working with ERP programs like SAP
- Technical engineering/maintenance execution background and experience are preferred
- Knowledge/familiarity with Material Master Data and MMRs
- Awareness/background in process automation and digitalization is a plus
- Strong data knowledge, curiosity, and capacity to understand data/data processes within the SC and business contexts
- A self-starter, with the ability to identify innovation/improvement opportunities and to implement projects
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to interact with and influence others to deliver business results
- Ability to prioritize and ensure delivery of priorities, work without close supervision, and work through others to deliver results
- Ability to deal effectively with complexity and detail, and to collaborate and work well in a team
- Ability to manage diverse cultural/ethnic sensitivities
- Results-driven and achievement orientated, moving with agility and speed in a fast-paced macro business environment
