
Sr. Engineer – Electronics Component

Key Responsibilities
- Working on BOM analysis / scrubbing & alternate part identification for active & passive semiconductor parts using online portals & tools.
- Board reverse engineering skills through either non-destructive or destructive approach.
- Working under guidance of Hardware Engineers & Architects during PCB design & development.
- Creating circuit schematic, assigning component footprints through package details, placement & routing using standard PCB design tools.
- Liaison with PCB manufacturing & PCBA assembly (EMS) vendors. Getting optimum quote for PCB, components & overall PCBA assembly.
- Getting prototype boards built from EMS vendors & conducting initial tests along with board bring-up & system level integration testing under guidance of Hardware Engineers & Architects.
- Building test jigs, fixtures & test setups for electronics components, PCB & PCBA testing; both during development, verification & validation, testing & manufacturing phases.
- Purchasing electronics components from local market to support building test jigs, fixtures, test setups during product design & development along with verification & validation.
- Getting involved in PCBA field failures RCA / CAPA & identifying the root cause of the failures along with improvement plan / corrective action.
- Ability to create & execute test plan for evaluating the PCBs & PCBAs from functional, electrical, thermal, environmental, reliability, endurance & EMC aspects as well as meeting the expected overall life of the PCBA.

Work ExperienceRequired Skills (Technical Competency):
- Bachelors/Diploma degree in either Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication or equivalent with overall 6 years of relevant experience in designing/ building/ engineering/ reverse engineering of semiconductor electronics components, PCBs & PCBAs.
- Detailed understanding of the component datasheet including the different sections along with the various electrical characteristics & component package details.
- Hands on experience in IHS BoM intelligence, SILICON EXPERT & TPP (Total Parts PLUS).
- Component Engineering and compliance with ROHS, REACH, WEEE.
- Exposure to Engineering Change Management (ECM).
- Able to apply the principles & strategies for EMC during PCB design phase. Exposure & experience to methods for post design fixing of EMC.
- Strong knowledge & acquaintance with vendors, suppliers & manufacturers across the width & breadth of India, including local suppliers within the base city/state; for electronics components, PCB manufacturing & PCBA assembly (EMS).
- Signal integrity analysis during circuit simulation, pre-board design as well as post board design.
- Deep knowledge of IPC standards for PCB designing, manufacturing & sustenance.
- Good understanding & exposure to PCB manufacturing process & its application during PCB design & development.
Desired Skills:
- Basic understanding of the principles of high-speed design & its application during PCB design & development.
- PCB design experience for medical device industry with fair level of knowledge of medical device standard (IEC & medical EMC standard (IEC
