A Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machines used for cutting, shaping, and processing metal sheets or other materials. The role requires technical knowledge, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards to ensure high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser cutting machines (CO₂ / Fiber Laser).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
• Select appropriate materials, cutting parameters, and tools.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure accurate cutting quality.
• Perform daily machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Adjust machine settings to optimize speed, cut quality, and efficiency.
• Check finished parts for dimensions, accuracy, and defects using measuring tools (Vernier, Micrometer, Tape, Gauge).
• Load and unload materials safely.
• Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and follow all safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot minor machine faults and report major issues to supervisors.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams for smooth workflow.
• Maintain production records and complete job documentation.

Skills & Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or relevant field (preferred).
• Experience in operating CNC laser cutting machines (1–3 years preferred).
• Knowledge of laser cutting processes for MS, SS, Aluminium, etc.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of safety practices in manufacturing.
