Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Mobile Financing Fintech

Location:

Reports To:

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / Managing Director (MD)

Role summary

The COO will be responsible for driving end‑to‑end operations, execution of strategy, and scalable processes for a new mobile‑first digital lending / device‑financing platform. The role requires a senior operator who can translate vision into robust operational roadmaps while ensuring regulatory compliance, portfolio quality, and exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

· Own daily business operations across underwriting, disbursements, collections, customer support, and lending and sourcing partners, and dealer management for mobile/device financing and related credit products.

·  Build, optimize, and institutionalize processes, SOPs, and SLAs to deliver high availability, low TAT, and operational excellence in an app‑driven lending environment.

·  Build and work closely with Product and Data teams to design and refine digital journeys (onboarding, KYC, decisioning, repayments, collections) and support automation and straight‑through processing. Work in close coordination with the

Technology team.

· Oversee risk operations in conjunction with Risk/Credit to control fraud, credit losses, and operational risk, including policy implementation, monitoring, and early‑warning frameworks.

·  Ensure full compliance with applicable financial‑services and fintech regulations (e.g., RBI guidelines for digital lending/NBFC partners, KYC/AML, data privacy, fair‑practices code) in coordination with Legal & Compliance.

·  Lead capacity planning, annual operating planning, and OKR/KPI tracking for operations, including productivity, cost‑to‑serve, NPA/roll‑rate metrics, and customer experience metrics (NPS, CSAT).

·  Champion continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives, including process re‑engineering, digitization, and use of analytics/AI in decisioning and collections.

Candidate profile

·  15–25 years of total experience with at least 7–10 years in leadership roles in fintech, digital lending, consumer finance, telecom finance, or NBFCs; strong exposure to technology: mobile‑first or app‑based distribution is preferred.

·   Proven track record of scaling operations for a high‑growth fintech or consumer‑tech business.

·   Deep understanding of end‑to‑end credit lifecycle: acquisition, underwriting, disbursal, servicing, collections, recoveries, and portfolio/risk analytics.

·  Strong familiarity with In dian regulatory environment for digital lending, co‑lending / FLDG structures, KYC/AML, and data‑security best practices (if hiring for India); adjust as per your jurisdiction.

· Educational background in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related fields; MBA or equivalent is an advantage but not mandatory.

·  Preferred age band: 40–45 years, with maturity to operate at CXO/Board level while remaining hands‑on in operations.
