Role Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and technically sound PMO professional with a background in Electrical Engineering and expertise in solar, substation, and high-voltage infrastructure projects. The role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, ensuring timely execution, contract compliance, cost efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Management & Closure:
- Review contracts and prepare summaries covering scope, deliverables, timelines, LD clauses, and payment terms.
- Conduct internal orientation sessions for all departments to align them with contractual commitments.
- Escalate contractual deviations to Business Development or senior management.
- Coordinate with the Legal team for dispute resolution.
- Secure project completion certificates from clients as per contract.
2. Project Planning & Monitoring:
- Develop detailed schedules for Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), including high-voltage electrical components.
- Finalize and manage reputed civil and electrical contractors with experience in substations and switchyards.
- Monitor daily project progress; escalate potential delays early.
- Conduct mandatory weekly review meetings to ensure milestone tracking.
3. Substation & High Voltage System Oversight:
- Oversee design, installation, and commissioning of substations (400kV, 220kV, 132kV).
- Ensure compliance with technical standards for GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) and AIS (Air Insulated Switchyard) systems.
- Coordinate with design teams and third-party consultants for Power System Studies (PSS), including load flow, fault level, and protection coordination.
- Ensure readiness of electrical infrastructure for grid synchronization and connectivity.
4. Risk Management:
- Conduct initial and ongoing risk assessments; update risk registers monthly.
- Implement risk mitigation plans and monitor their effectiveness.
5. Stakeholder & Client Engagement:
- Maintain transparent communication with clients and stakeholders on site progress.
- Address and resolve client concerns proactively.
- Prepare and submit contractual progress reports and compliance documentation.
6. Cost Control & Optimization:
- Ensure efficient allocation of manpower and resources.
- Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with design, procurement, and execution teams.
- Optimize vendor contracts through strategic negotiations.
7. Billing & Cash Flow Management:
- Ensure timely and accurate billing of material and services within 2 working days of GRN/WCC.
- Coordinate BBU (Billing Break-Up) finalization with clients.
- Follow up for timely receipt of client payments and maintain positive cash flow.
Technical Expertise Required:
- Knowledge of substation and switchyard systems (400kV/220kV/132kV).
- Understanding of GIS & AIS design and operation.
- Familiarity with grid connectivity processes and regulatory approvals.
- Experience with Power System Studies (PSS) load flow, relay coordination, fault level studies.
- Strong grasp of electrical drawings, SLDs, protection schemes, and commissioning protocols.
