About the role:
Gartner is looking for a Test Engineer with strong ETL data warehousing, SQL scripting & BI report validation experience to join their team to understand and implement best-fit approaches to testing ensuring quality delivery while following the industry best practices. Working knowledge of MDM system and experience in API testing will be a plus.

What you'll do:

• Review functional and technical documents to understand the data lineage.
• Create and execute manual and automated test plans for ETL data pipeline, functionality, acceptance, regression, performance testing.
• Engage and partner with developers and BA in an agile development environment to understand requirements and perform testing.
• Create test scenarios, run functional tests, create regression suite, create testing artifacts, and raise defects with detailed information.
• Follow coding standards, build appropriate unit tests, integration tests and deployment scripts and review project artifacts created by peers.
• Design and develop automation scripts.

What you'll need:
2-4 years hands-on experience in ETL concepts and testing in data warehouse/data driven projects. Working knowledge of MDM system.

Must have

• Strong command in writing complex PL/SQL scripts for Datawarehouse/ETL testing.
• Understanding and testing experience in Data Warehousing/MDM and Data modelling.
• Should have worked on cloud platform such as Azure or AWS.
• Experience in testing ETL pipelines, BI dashboards & Self-Service reports
• Hands on experience of Test management tools JIRA, QC etc.
• Experience in testing API's using Postman or automation tool will be a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills, with strong ability to learn, adapt and comprehend business processes.
• Perform root cause analysis on the issues reported.

Good to Have:

• Knowledge of testing MDM solutions - match and merge algorithm, testing NRT messages, API messages
• Good understanding of API Testing and best practices.
• Experience in automation using any programmatic languages e.g., Python, Java is a plus.
• Experience in Performance testing with tools like JMeter is a plus.
• Experience/knowledge about ETL automation tools like DataOps, ETLValidator
