Overview

As a Senior Financial Analyst in the BU Finance team, you will be responsible for supporting the Chief Product and Technology organization. This role works closely with senior business partners in engineering and products departments and finance professionals to drive thoughtful analysis and be the trusted finance advisor for supporting businesses. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining financial models and providing data insights to help Quorum make strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

MANAGE The Business

What you will do on a day-to-day basis (40%)

  • Supporting SVP of R&D and will be trusted finance advisor for the R&D leadership team.
  • Analyze monthly financial and operational results and communicate that to both Finance Leadership and Business Partners in a way that is easily consumed by the target audience.
  • collaborate with R&D leadership team to gather keys data points to forecast expenses accurately.
  • Present actual and forecasted financials to finance and R&D leadership.
  • Own these responsibilities under the Manage category with minimal supervision.

CHANGE The Business

We expect you to improve the process and automate recurring tasks (40%)

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and take initiative to automate recurring tasks using Tableau or other BI tools.
  • Build a financial model to facilitate annual budgeting exercise.
  • Participate in long range planning process by building financial models in collaboration with business partners.
  • Resolve business problems using data analysis and help support data-driven decision making.
  • Work on ad hoc financial analyses and projects.

GROW The Business

Hitting the Home Run by providing data insights that helps grows top line or EBITDA (20%)

  • Play a key part in shaping the R&D Strategy by providing key data insights to business partners.
  • Flexible to try new projects and implement new ideas (not afraid to fail) that will either help grow our sales or EBITDA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably with a focus on finance, economics or accounting, an MBA is a plus
  • A minimum five years of experience in financial planning & analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and accounting/budgeting & forecasting processes.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with superior problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, identify and reconcile gaps in order to report findings and drive decision making.
  • Excellent Excel modelling skills.
  • Experience with operational and financial ERP systems including SalesForce, Adaptive, NetSuite.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.) and techniques.
