Python + Django Software Engineer

You will be responsible for developing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable web applications using Django framework and its extensive Python ecosystem. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new features, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot, and debug complex issues.

You are expected to continuously learn and keep up to date with best practices and better technologies.

You will work closely with the Design and Product team and help bridge the gap between User experience design and technical implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Development of complex web applications using Django while ensuring best practices and design patterns
  • Build robust backend services and RESTful APIs with Django REST framework
  • Implement efficient database schemas and optimise query performance
  • Handle server-side security, data validation, and business logic
  • Develop reusable Django apps and components to maintain consistency
  • Set up and maintain development infrastructure including deployment pipelines
  • Integrate third-party services and external APIs
  • Optimise application performance for speed, scalability and reliability

Requirements

  • Expertise in building production-grade applications using Python and Django
  • Strong proficiency in Django REST framework and API development
  • Experience with PostgreSQL database design and query optimisation
  • Strong understanding of server-side architecture and security practices
  • Proficiency in version control systems and deployment strategies
  • Excellent communication, teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams as well as clients
  • Care deeply about product experience and are driven to put great products in the hands of users
