 Job Title: GeneralManager (GM) – Litigation & MediationLocation:HyderabadReports to: General Counsel Job SummaryThe General Manager(GM) – Litigation & Mediation is responsible for overseeing all aspects oflitigation management and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for theorganization. This role combines strategic legal oversight, case coordination,mediation, and policy development to resolve disputes effectively and inalignment with the company's objectives. The DGM ensures the smooth handling oflegal cases while fostering a culture of amicable settlements through ADR. Key Responsibilities1.  LitigationManagement• StrategicOversight: Develop and implement strategies for managing various forms oflitigation, including civil, criminal, arbitration, and regulatory cases.• CaseCoordination: Lead and oversee both internal and external legal teams toensure that legal proceedings are initiated and progress in a timely manner.• DatabaseManagement: Maintain comprehensive records of ongoing and past cases,providing regular updates to senior management on case status, milestones, andoutcomes.• CourtRepresentation: Represent the organization in legal forums, such as courts,tribunals, and arbitration panels, ensuring effective presentation of thecompany's legal position.2.  Mediationand Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)• MediationOversight: Supervise the mediation process and ensure that ADR effortsalign with the organization's business and legal objectives.• Trainingand Development: Provide training for internal teams on effective mediationtechniques, conflict resolution skills, and ADR processes to enhanceorganizational competence.• PolicyDevelopment: Establish, review, and update internal policies regardingdispute resolution mechanisms, promoting a proactive approach to conflictmanagement and fostering a culture of amicable settlements.  3.  LegalAdvisory and Compliance• RegulatoryCompliance: Ensure that all litigation and ADR activities comply withapplicable laws and regulations, minimizing legal risks.• PolicyFormulation: Advise senior management on the formulation of internalpolicies designed to mitigate legal risks and promote ethical conduct.• StakeholderEngagement: Work closely with various business units to align legalstrategies with overall business goals, ensuring legal considerations areintegrated into business decisionmaking processes.4.  TeamLeadership and Development• TeamManagement: Lead, mentor, and develop the legal team, fostering acollaborative, efficient, and high -performance work environment.• ResourceAllocation: Allocate resources effectively across litigation and mediationmatters to ensure that legal teams can address case workloads efficiently.• PerformanceMonitoring: Evaluate team performance regularly, providing feedback andimplementing strategies to ensure continuous professional development andimprovement.  RequirementsQualifications and SkillsEducationalBackground• Essential:Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.• Preferred:Advanced degrees or certifications in dispute resolution, mediation, or relatedfields.ProfessionalExperience• 15–25 years of legal practice experience, withsignificant expertise in litigation and mediation, particularly in theconstruction or infrastructure sectors.• Proven track record of managing complex legaldisputes and leading successful ADR initiatives.Core Competencies• AnalyticalSkills: Ability to analyze complex legal matters and develop practical,effective strategies.• NegotiationSkills: Expertise in negotiating settlements and mediating disputes tofavorable resolutions.• CommunicationSkills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the abilityto clearly articulate legal positions and engage effectively with stakeholders.• Leadership:Strong leadership capabilities in managing legal teams and fosteringcross -functional collaboration.• CulturalSensitivity: Awareness of diverse cultural perspectives, especially whenmanaging international or multi -jurisdictional disputes.Key Skills• Excellent verbal and written communicationskills.• Strong follow -up and attention to detail.• Time management and organizational skills.• Positive, proactive attitude with resilience andflexibility in handling legal challenges.• Ability to stretch under pressure and meetdeadlines while maintaining high performance. Key PerformanceIndicators (KPIs)• Timely resolution of legal disputes withpositive outcomes for the organization.• Effective management and coordination oflitigation and ADR processes.• Successful implementation and updates of ADRpolicies.• Enhanced dispute resolution outcomes throughmediation and ADR processes.• Leadership in managing and developing the legalteam to meet departmental and organizational goals. PersonalAttributes• Resilient under pressure with a strong abilityto manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.• Highly adaptable and flexible in the face ofchanging legal landscapes.• Strong ethical standards with a commitment toresolving disputes fairly and professionally.• Highly organized, self -motivated, andresults -driven.
