Primary Objectives: 

Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web applications and services that expose http or RPC API endpoints Partner closely with engineers and product teams to embed quality into every phase of the SDLC. Drive continuous integration and deployment testing to streamline release cycles. Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues through automated validation. Provide mentorship and support to developers and QA team members on automation best practices. Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and industry quality standards. Develop strong domain knowledge, and regularly access/communicate value and risk with test cases.

Detailed Job Duties: 

Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites to improve testing efficiency and coverage. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define acceptance criteria and test strategies for new features. Build and maintain tools for performance testing, security testing, and integration validation. Participate in code reviews, providing feedback on testability and quality. Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and provide actionable recommendations. Support the team during production releases with regression testing and validation. Acquire and apply knowledge of the business domain to assess risk levels and prioritize test cases accordingly. Continuously monitor and improve automation processes for scalability and reliability. Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement

What does SUCCESS look like?

In this role, success will mean driving measurable improvements in software quality and delivery speed. Within the first year, the Sr. SDET will have achieved automation coverage of 90% or higher for critical features and regression testing, helping to significantly reduce release cycle times through well-integrated, automated pipelines. They will establish a scalable and maintainable automation framework adopted across teams, leading to early defect detection and prevention, and a marked decrease in production issues. By fostering strong collaboration with engineering, product, and QA teams, the Sr. SDET will integrate quality practices seamlessly into the development process, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

The MUST Haves: 

Five plus (5+) years of experience in software quality engineering, with a focus on test automation. Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript. Hands-on expertise with automation frameworks/tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. Demonstrated expertise of API testing, using tools such as Postman or REST Assured. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions). Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing principles, and SDLC best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

 The Nice to Haves: 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or engineering preferred. Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling. Exposure to cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of security testing practices and tools. ISTQB certification or similar QA-related credentials. Experience with behavior-driven development (BDD) using Cucumber or similar tools.Qualifications
