Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and visionary Director of Engineering to lead high-performing engineering teams aligned to strategic business functions. The Director of Engineering will lead technical delivery, strategy, and team development for Rupeek's LOS and LMS platforms. This high-impact leadership position demands proven experience in building scalable, secure lending systems, and the ability to drive innovation while ensuring operational rigor. The ideal candidate brings deep lending domain expertise and the vision to translate business priorities into robust engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

People

• Build, manage, and mentor diverse, high-performing engineering teams for LOS/LMS.
• Drive hiring, talent development, and performance management with a focus on collaboration and growth culture.
• Foster team motivation, wellbeing, and retention by modeling empathy, trust, and inclusion.

Product

• Partner with business, product, and compliance leaders to define and prioritize LOS/LMS roadmaps and high-impact features.
• Co-own delivery of business KPIs, including customer experience, system reliability, and process automation.
• Champion innovative lending and post-disbursement solutions fit for a fast-growing digital market.

Technology

• Architect robust, scalable, secure lending platforms using modern cloud, API, and devops practices.
• Establish and communicate the technical vision, standards, and architecture for LOS/LMS evolution.
• Drive SDLC excellence, automate deployment and QA, improve production systems hygiene and uptime.

Execution

• Develop lean, outcome-oriented engineering processes (agile, incident management, OKRs).
• Oversee production stability and continuous system improvement.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment with Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Finance.
• Serve as technical authority in regulatory readiness, data migration, lending compliance, and security best practices.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven Leadership in Scaling Engineering Organizations:
  Demonstrated success growing and leading diverse, high-performing teams in fast-paced, high-growth fintech or lending tech environments. Strong talent development, mentoring, and inclusive culture-building capabilities.
• Deep Domain Expertise in Lending Technology:
  Extensive hands-on experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), Loan Management Systems (LMS), fintech architecture, credit workflows, regulatory compliance (especially NBFC/gold loan domain). Ability to architect and evolve scalable, secure lending platforms.
• Mastery of SDLC & DevOps Practices:
  Expertise in managing full Software Development Life Cycle, implementing lean agile methodologies, continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD), devops automation, incident management, and production system hygiene to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Strategic and Analytical Thinking:
  Ability to analyze complex lending and risk scenarios, set a clear technical vision aligned with business goals, and translate that into executable technology roadmaps and measurable KPIs.
• Exceptional Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
  Skilled in cross-functional engagement with business, compliance, product, risk, finance, and operations teams. Adept at balancing tradeoffs, managing expectations, and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Successful 0–1 and Scale-Up Product Delivery:
  Proven track record in guiding early-stage product development and successfully scaling platforms to support millions of users and transactions, ensuring systems are robust and future-ready.
• Business & Financial Acumen:
  Understand lending key metrics (portfolio performance, risk management, regulatory landscape). Able to align technology priorities with business objectives and financial constraints.
• Technical Depth & Platform Integration:
  Strong full-stack software engineering background, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), API design and integration, data architecture, and security best practices.
• Adaptability & Problem-Solving:
  Skilled at navigating ambiguity, resolving high-impact technical and operational challenges, and pivoting quickly in a dynamic fintech environment.
• Agile Governance & Outcome Orientation:
  Experience running lean, outcome-focused sprints, setting and tracking OKRs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Communication & Influential Leadership:
