Job Title: Hydraulic Technician

Department: Maintenance / Engineering

Reports To: Technical Manager

Location: Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia

Job Summary:

The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and installation of hydraulic systems and components used in machinery and equipment. The role ensures optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all hydraulic operations within the facility or field.

Key Responsibilities:1. Maintenance and Repair

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, actuators, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings, crane accessories, etc.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Conduct regular fluid checks and replace hydraulic oils and filters as required.
  • Disassemble and assemble hydraulic components for servicing and testing.

2. Troubleshooting and Testing

  • Identify system faults using diagnostic tools, gauges, and flow meters.
  • Trouble shooting services in pumps, motors, hydraulic actuators, crane equipments, diesel engines.
  • Test hydraulic systems for performance and leaks after repair or installation.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.

3. Installation and Commissioning

  • Install new hydraulic equipment and systems according to technical specifications.
  • Support commissioning activities for new machines and systems.
  • Ensure proper alignment, pressure settings, and system calibration.

4. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs.
  • Report major breakdowns or recurring issues to supervisors.
  • Record spare parts usage and assist in inventory management.

5. Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere to all company safety standards and procedures.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with environmental and occupational safety regulations.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety training programs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic maintenance and repair (industrial, construction, or mobile equipment).
  • Experience in Shipyard will be plus and preferable.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, circuits, and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in using hydraulic testing and diagnostic tools.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills are an advantage.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy components.
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments, including confined spaces or elevated platforms.
  • Willingness to work shifts or extended hours as needed.
