About The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced analytics professional who will own design, delivery and operationalization of data products and BI solutions that directly inform business decisions. You will lead end-to-end initiatives—from scoping requirements with stakeholders, building reliable ETL pipelines and performant Power BI reports, to establishing monitoring and deployment practices—ensuring analytics outputs are accurate, timely and actionable for teams such as Finance, Operations, Product and Sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of end-to-end Power BI solutions: data ingestion, modelling, DAX measures, visualization design and performance tuning.
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Python and T-SQL to integrate multiple data sources (SQL Server, APIs, flat files) and ensure data quality and lineage.
- Automate routine reporting and MIS processes (Excel, Power Query, Python scripts) to reduce manual effort and speed up decision cycles.
- Manage secure publication, scheduling and access control for Power BI reports, including gateway configuration, row-level security and versioning.
- Translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions and KPIs, partnering closely with business stakeholders to validate hypotheses and measure outcomes.
- Implement monitoring, alerting and SLA processes for data jobs and reports to ensure reliability and timely delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement: optimize queries, models and report design for performance and scalability as data volumes grow.
- Mentor and coach junior analysts, run peer reviews, and help the team adopt best practices for development, testing and documentation.
- Act as the primary technical liaison for client-facing deliverables and manage cross-functional delivery with Product, IT and external vendors when required.
Required Skills
- Power BI — advanced experience with data modelling, DAX, visualization best practices and performance optimization.
- Python — practical experience in data engineering/ETL using pandas, scripting for automation, and working with APIs.
- SQL Server — strong T-SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, query tuning and working with stored procedures.
- Advanced Excel — Power Query, PivotTables and automation (VBA or modern alternatives) for ad-hoc analysis and MIS.
- Familiarity with Power Apps or low-code platforms for simple application/prototype builds is a plus.
- Experience implementing data access controls, report scheduling, and production deployment processes for BI solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder communication—able to present findings, translate technical details for non-technical audiences and drive decisions.
- Proven track record of leading analytics projects or small teams and delivering measurable business impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in analytics, BI or reporting, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior contributor role.
- Prior experience in E-commerce or retail analytics is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data) are beneficial.
