The Designing, Costing & Proposal Engineer will be responsible for designing treatment systems, preparing cost estimates and developing technical proposals for water and wastewater treatment projects. This role requires a strong understanding of process design, cost analysis and proposal preparation to support sales and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Engineering:
- Develop & update process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for water treatment systems.
- Select and size equipment such as pumps, membranes, filters and chemical dosing systems based on project requirements.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, environmental regulations and client specifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Good Knowledge of water treatment technologies (RO, UF, MBR, STP, ETP, etc.).
- Expertise in designing WTPs, WWTPs for Domestic as well as Industrial applications
- Preparing plant as well as equipment layout for WTP as well as WWTPs
- Visiting Customers, their engineering team for dito discussment philosophy and provide
solutions as and when need arises.
Cost Estimation & Pricing:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for water, wastewater treatment plants & other plants.
- Evaluate vendor quotations, material costs and labour charges to ensure competitive pricing.
- Improve design and equipment selection to balance performance and cost-effectiveness.
Proposal & Documentation:
- Develop technical and commercial proposals, including scope of work, specifications and pricing.
- Prepare bid documents and respond to tenders in collaboration with the sales team.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (procurement, sales and project management) to finalize proposals.
- Ensure that the timelines for submitting proposals to clients are adhered to (as per attached annexure).
Client & Vendor Coordination:
- Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for equipment selection and cost negotiation.
- Conduct site visits and assessments when necessary.
