Job Summary:

The Pharmacist is responsible for the safe and effective preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of medications for patients. They provide expert advice on the proper use of prescription and over-the-counter medications, ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients as per doctor's instructions.

Review prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and potential side effects.

Provide patients with clear instructions and counseling on medication use, storage, and potential adverse effects.

Maintain patient medication records and ensure confidentiality.

Monitor inventory levels, manage stock, and place orders to ensure availability of medicines.

Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards.

Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to support patient treatment plans.

Participate in health promotion activities, vaccination drives, or patient education programs.

Advise on lifestyle, diet, and medication adherence for better health outcomes.


Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).

Valid license to practice as a Pharmacist in the respective state/country.

Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medication safety.

Excellent communication and counseling skills.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare environment.

Familiarity with pharmacy software and inventory management systems is a plus.


Working Conditions:

May work in hospitals, retail pharmacies, clinics, or healthcare institutions.

May require standing for long periods and handling inventory.

Must adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols.
