Job Title: Senior Interior Designer

Location: Kolkata

Experience: Minimum 2 years

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Interior Designer / Technical Coordinator with a broad multidisciplinary background in interior design, architecture, and construction. The ideal candidate will be proficient in producing comprehensive, high-quality technical drawings for various design disciplines, including civil, furniture specifications, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, false ceilings, marble and tile work, kitchen and washroom elevations, as well as modular and loose furniture.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Drawing Production:
• Prepare detailed technical drawings such as floor plans, ceiling plans, elevations, sections, joinery details, and furniture specifications.
• Develop accurate layouts for plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC integration.
• Material Knowledge & Specifications:
• Understand the properties, durability, and technical specifications of materials used, ensuring they are properly represented in all drawings.
• Prepare detailed material lists and "finish dockets" that include specific product and material usage.
• Software Proficiency:
• Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) to produce precise, high-quality drawings.
• Translate 3D designs and conceptual sketches into accurate technical specifications.
• Collaboration & Coordination:
• Work closely with interior designers, architects, engineers, and contractors to develop and refine designs.
• Ensure all trade-specific details (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.) are accurately coordinated with architectural and interior plans.
• Provide technical support to on-site teams, helping resolve issues that arise during the construction or installation phase.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance:
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations, industry standards, and quality specifications.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all drawings and documentation.
• Project Documentation:
• Organize and maintain detailed project documentation, including revision logs, construction drawings, material lists, and technical specifications.
• Update and revise drawings based on client feedback and design modifications.
• Project Support:
• Assist in project meetings, presentations, and budget/timeline management, as required.
• Provide input during design development and technical planning stages.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in interior drafting with a strong background in multidisciplinary projects, including civil, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and furniture specifications.
• Software Proficiency: Strong command of CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) for creating detailed construction documents.
• Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of interior design principles and technical drawing standards, including experience with modular systems, false ceilings, stone and marble work, and more.
• Attention to Detail: A high degree of precision in creating accurate, comprehensive drawings.
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to collaborate effectively with design teams, architects, contractors, and engineers.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to quickly identify and address technical issues in designs, materials, or coordination.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing interior drafting projects, including detailed technical drawings and multidisciplinary work.
• Education/Experience: Background in Interior Design, Architecture, or Drafting is essential.

Beneficial Skills

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of interior fit-outs, including detailed specifications for kitchens, bathrooms, and furniture installations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
