Senior Software Engineer - Spring Boot Java Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with 4-6 years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot development to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building scalable, high-performance applications with modern authentication mechanisms and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Development

•Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and Java

•Implement scalable solutions following microservices architecture patterns and best practices

•Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to SOLID principles

•Implement OAuth 2.0 authentication and authorization flows for secure API access

•Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated test suites

•Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members

•Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance issues

System Design & Architecture

•Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design discussions

•Design database schemas and optimize queries for performance

•Implement security best practices including OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect authentication and authorization mechanisms

•Design and implement secure API authentication using JWT tokens and refresh token strategies

•Configure Spring Security OAuth2 Resource Server for microservices architecture

•Ensure applications are built with scalability, reliability, and maintainability in mind

•Document technical specifications and system architecture

Collaboration & Leadership

•Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps

•Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning

•Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

•Lead small to medium-sized projects and coordinate with team members

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

•Experience: 4-6 years of professional software development experience

•Core Java: Strong proficiency in Java 8+ features (Streams, Lambda expressions, Optional, etc.)

•Spring Ecosystem:

•Extensive experience with Spring Boot 2.x/3.x

•Spring Core (IoC, DI, AOP)

•Spring MVC/REST

•Spring Data JPA/Hibernate

•Spring Security with OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect

•Spring Authorization Server

•Spring Cloud (preferred)

•Security & Authentication:

•OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect implementation

•JWT token management and validation

•Resource server and authorization server configuration

•Experience with OAuth 2.0 grant types (Authorization Code, Client Credentials, Implicit, PKCE)

•API security best practices

•Database Technologies:

•Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)

•Experience with NoSQL databases (Elastic) is a plus

•API Development: RESTful API design principles, OpenAPI/Swagger documentation

•Testing: JUnit, Mockito, Integration testing, Test-Driven Development (TDD)

•Build Tools: Maven or Gradle

•Version Control: Git, GitFlow workflow

•Experience implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions

•Experience with API Gateway security patterns (Kong, Zuul, Spring Cloud Gateway)

•Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies
