About Impact Measurement And Advisory
Sattva's Impact Measurement and Advisory (IMA) team conducts rigorous evaluations that help in evidence-based decision making and action for funders and social sector practitioners. IMA uses mixed methods of research including qualitative and quantitative approaches for data collection using a 360-degree perspective gathering insights from all direct and indirect stakeholders associated with the social program.

Sattva's IMA has carried out 85 evaluations in thematic areas such as agriculture and allied activities, education and livelihood, skill development and entrepreneurship, water and sanitation, women empowerment, and natural resource management. These evaluations are implemented across the lifecycle of a social program including needs assessment, program evaluation, social audit, impact assessment, brand perception, and social return on investment. The actionable insights from the studies have informed program strategy, program operationalization inputs, and ecosystem learning for philanthropic foundations, corporates, corporate foundations, non-profits, multilateral and impact ecosystems across India, Africa, and South Asia.

The Opportunity
The Engagement Manager will be an integral part of our Impact Measurement and Advisory vertical with a core responsibility of expanding the business, leading project delivery and managing corporate clients. The role will include working closely with the team in designing and building solutions to measure and enable high impact on the ground. The Engagement Manager will be responsible for:

Roles & Responsibilities:
Program Management:

• Effectively managing multiple projects, lead timely delivery within the budget, and achieve project outcomes ensuring resources are adequately mapped to the projects, and are being regularly guided and supported to achieve the desired goals.
• Leading multiple projects with the teams and taking accountability of project closure and client satisfaction.
• Foreseeing internal and external risks, creating mitigation strategies, and planning for contingency.
• Regularly governing multiple projects to ensure timelines, delivery, budget, and team resourcing is tracked and managed on a regular basis

Problem solving & Study design

• Engaging with clients and communities effectively to understand program objective and impact assessment outcomes
• Designing relevant methodologies for an evaluation study across sectors including health, education, vocational training, agriculture and livelihood, water and sanitation etc.
• Guiding the team to conduct data analysis, visualization, and generating relevant insights.
• Drafting a cohesive narrative from findings of the study to communicate it to the clients.
• Can demonstrate expertise in impact investment, development finance institutions (DFIs), and social enterprise.
• Can manage and coordinate projects that span across multiple countries, to ensure successful implementation and achievement of project objectives on a global scale.
• Expertise in Agri/Education/Livelihood/Health sectors, contributing to impactful projects and initiatives

Client Engagement

• Leading client engagements through relationship building, active listening and providing strategic inputs which align with their vision of high impact on the ground and the ecosystem.
• Co-creating solutions to meet client's current and future needs and work closely with key stakeholders. Leading stakeholder engagement, analysis and presentation of synthesized outputs and recommendations based on in-depth understanding of client's work, developmental needs of the program beneficiaries.
• Influencing decision making and action to enable positive and sustainable impact.

Leading a team

• Leading a team of 10-12 people to deliver projects and internal business unit activities.
• Ensuring team wellbeing through regular check-ins to understand professional aspirations and growth trajectory.
• Supporting the team during challenges and setbacks through a combination of guidance, hand-holding support, and working together to ensure that the team delivers on high performance.
• Enabling a transparent and participatory culture, engaging with all team members to co-create solutions, and drive relevant change processes for the team/ project/ function.

Building expertise and thought leadership

• Building thematic areas under assessment that strengthen Sattva's capabilities to deliver value to our clients.
• Building, structuring and developing knowledge to share internally within the organisation and at the ecosystem level.

• 8-10 years of professional experience in non-profits/research advisory firms/social enterprises/consulting firms
• Proficient in organizing and overseeing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet objectives
• Skilled in both written communication and presentations, adept at crafting clear, concise written materials and delivering engaging presentations.
• Proficient in both descriptive and inferential data analysis techniques, designing comprehensive research methodologies ensuring robust data collection and analysis
• Proficient in providing strategic policy advice and advocating for policy changes to address organizational objectives and societal needs.
• Exhibits strong understanding and insight into business and financial principles, market dynamics, and strategic decision-making to drive organizational success.
• Skillfully cultivates and maintains positive relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering high-quality service and support.
• Demonstrates the ability to analyze situations, identify opportunities, and develop innovative strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Skillfully fosters teamwork, encourages open communication, and effectively delegates tasks with the ability to manage emotions effectively
• Proficient in designing and implementing customized tools for accurate data collection and analyzing non-numerical data in real-world settings.
