Job Overview:
The Site Engineer for Weighbridge Automation will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and operation of automated weighbridge systems at various sites. This role requires technical expertise in both civil and mechanical engineering, automation systems, and project management. The Site Engineer will ensure that weighbridge systems are installed correctly, maintained efficiently, and function seamlessly in accordance with customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Commissioning:
Supervise and manage the installation of weighbridge automation systems (hardware and software).
Oversee the installation of weighbridge structures, including foundations, pits, and associated civil works.
Ensure proper calibration and configuration of automated weighing systems.
Perform system testing and commissioning to ensure full functionality before handover to the client.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to weighbridge systems.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to weighbridge automation systems.
Ensure proper calibration of the system to maintain accurate readings and measurements.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues and provide effective solutions.
Technical Support:
Provide on-site technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of weighbridge systems.
Offer post-installation support, including troubleshooting, system adjustments, and guidance on system operation.
Collaborate with the technical support team to address complex system issues remotely.
Project Management:
Coordinate with the project management team to ensure timely completion of installation projects.
Supervise and manage contractors and subcontractors working on the site to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and time standards.
Ensure that all work complies with health and safety regulations.
Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
Quality Control:
Ensure that weighbridge systems meet industry standards and customer specifications.
Implement and enforce quality control measures during the installation and maintenance phases.
Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project plans, regulations, and standards.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance, and calibration work performed.
Provide detailed reports and documentation on system performance, operational issues, and maintenance schedules.
Ensure all project documentation is kept up-to-date for future reference.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Any Graduate
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in site engineering or rfid automation systems, preferably in the weighbridge or industrial automation industry.
Experience with weighbridge systems, including automation software and hardware components.
Familiarity with electrical wiring, calibration, and mechanical systems.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of automation systems, control panels, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
Experience in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
Understanding of civil engineering concepts related to weighbridge foundations and installation.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members, contractors, and clients.
Ability to produce clear and concise technical reports and documentation.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions under pressure.
Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of site safety protocols and the ability to implement health and safety standards on-site.
Working Conditions:
This is a field-based role that may require travel to various job sites.
The job may require occasional work during weekends or after hours to meet project deadlines.
On-site work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and physical demands.
