Roles and Responsibilities

Production Scheduling:

  • Create and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Allocate production tasks to different workstations and machines.
  • Adjust schedules to accommodate unexpected disruptions or changes in production requirements.

Capacity Planning:

  • Analyze production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Optimize resource utilization to maximize production output.
  • Suggest equipment upgrades or process improvements to enhance capacity.

Material Planning:

  • Forecast raw material requirements to ensure timely delivery and prevent stock outs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to manage inventory levels.
  • Monitor material usage and identify areas for cost reduction.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Track production progress against planned schedules and identify deviations.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency and quality.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with production teams, quality control, and maintenance departments to address issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate production plans and updates to relevant stakeholders.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP systems)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
