Skills and Qualifications

Java Developer

Responsibilities:

  1. Determines technical feasibility by evaluating requirements and analysis as well as proposed solutions.
  2. Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  3. Enhances existing solutions to match client requirements by configuring and customizing software using Actimize software, SQL, Java, and other technologies.
  4. Tests and approves software solutions, configurations, and customizations.
  5. Provides information by collecting, analysing, and summarizing development and service issues.
  6. Utilizes software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process.
  7. Collaborates and adds value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
  8. Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques.
  9. Performs technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems.
  10. Serve as a mentor to less experienced software engineers.
  11. Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments on some design aspects.
  12. Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing technical solutions in a timely fashion.
  13. Review product and/or application information including manuals and brochures for technical accuracy.
  14. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, diagrams, clear code, and comments.

Qualifications and Required Experience

  1. Prog. Language: SQL, Java, JS, API (Application Programming Interface)
  2. Web Technologies: HTML, CSS (Cloud Storage Service), XML, XSL, Servlets, Web Services
  3. Databases: MS SQL and/or Oracle. Cassandra is a plus.
  4. Operating systems: Windows and Linux
  5. Application Servers and Servlet Containers: WebSphere, Tomcat, WebLogic etc.
  6. Prior Actimize solution experience is a big plus.
  7. AWS/Azure and Container experience is a plus.
  8. Tableau knowledge is a plus.
  9. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  10. Excellent written and spoken English.
  11. Pro-active and Team Oriented approach
  12. BS degree in Computer Science or related field
