Namaste India Handicrafts Pvt. Ltd. is a Handicraft emporium specializing in traditional Indian handicrafts, including jewelry, home decor, and apparel.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly creative and trend-oriented Product Designer to develop innovative product concepts for the Indian handicraft industry. The role requires strong design skills, regular travel to artisan clusters, and the ability to merge traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop new product concepts across home dcor, furniture, textiles, gifting, and lifestyle handicraft categories.

Conduct trend research to stay updated with latest global and Indian design styles, colors, materials, and consumer preferences.

Travel to artisan clusters, factories, workshops, and production units to understand craft techniques and ensure practical design execution.

Create sketches, digital designs, CAD drawings, and detailed product specifications for sampling and production.

Collaborate with sourcing, merchandising, and production teams to develop prototypes and finalize designs.

Review samples, provide design corrections, and oversee prototype improvements.

Maintain seasonal trend boards, material swatches, color palettes, and design libraries.

Ensure innovation while maintaining cultural relevance, quality standards, and cost feasibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion/Accessory Design, or related field.

Strong creativity and understanding of form, aesthetics, and materials.

Knowledge of Indian handicraft techniques, artisan processes, and traditional craft clusters (preferred).

Excellent visualization, conceptualization, and communication skills.

Ability to travel frequently for design development and coordination.

Design Software Knowledge Required:

Adobe Suite, CorelDRAW, AutoCAD / SketchUp, Procreate or any related softwares/tools used for designing

MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint) for documentation, costing sheets, and presentations.

Personal Attributes:

Creative, trend-savvy, and detail-oriented.

Strong sense of design innovation blended with cultural aesthetics.

Adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working with artisans.

Capable of managing multiple design projects and deadlines.
