Our client, operating a Carbon-In-Leach (CIL) gold processing plant in Tanzania, is seeking a skilled, hands-on, and leadership-driven
Mechanical Maintenance Foreman/Engineer
to join their operations team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in heavy industrial plant maintenance, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and the leadership skills to guide and train a team of local technicians, ensuring maximum equipment uptime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least 3 years hands-on in cement, paper, chemical, or mineral processing plants
  • Proven expertise in crushers, ball mills, heavy-duty slurry pumps, and other large industrial equipment
  • Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems, welding, fabrication, machining, and equipment alignment
  • Supervisory experience in leading maintenance teams
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Fluent English; Swahili is an advantage (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to extended working hours

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and train local mechanical technicians
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment, including crushers, ball mills, slurry pumps, agitators, blowers, boilers, elution columns, dosing pumps, generators, and compressors
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective measures
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and prepare technical reports
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and promote a strong safety culture
