Role Overview

As a
Roofing Trainee
, you will learn to install, maintain, and repair
flat and pitched roofing systems
to UK standards. You'll develop skills in safety, materials, tools, quality assurance, and site productivity. After successfully completing the programme, you will be
eligible for UK placement
as a
Roofer
, contributing to residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities (During Training & On the Job)

• Learn and apply
  health & safety practices
  (risk assessment, PPE, working at height, manual handling).
• Understand and install
  flat roofing systems
  (e.g., bituminous membranes, single-ply, liquid-applied).
• Understand and install
  pitched roofing systems
  (tiles, slates, underlays, battens, flashing, ridge & verge systems).
• Read and interpret
  drawings
  and
  specifications
  ; measure, mark, and set out work areas.
• Prepare substrates, insulation, vapour control layers, and detailing to
  UK building standards
  .
• Use hand and power tools correctly; maintain tools and site housekeeping.
• Perform
  quality checks
  (seams, fixings, adhesion, fall/slope, drainage, penetrations).
• Collaborate with site supervisors and trades; maintain
  daily work logs
  and
  photo documentation
  .
• Follow
  environmental
  and
  waste management
  procedures.
• Uphold
  professional conduct
  : punctuality, teamwork, communication, and customer focus.

Eligibility Requirements

• Education:
  Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Structural) or related technical field;
  OR
  proven hands-on aptitude/technical diploma.
• Skills:
  Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, attention to detail, good physical fitness for manual work.
• Language:
  Proficient in English (spoken & written).
• Availability:
  Willingness to undertake training in India and relocate to the UK post-certification.
• Eligibility:
  Ability to meet
  UK Skilled Worker visa
  requirements with a licensed sponsor (includes English level, salary threshold, and role eligibility per Home Office guidance).
