About the Role:

We are seeking a
Senior Quality Engineer (Automation)
to drive automation strategy, quality engineering practices, and ensure seamless delivery across projects. This is a
hands-on leadership role
requiring strong expertise in automation, strategic thinking, and mentoring small teams (2–5 members).

You'll work closely with project, business, and QE teams to design test frameworks, develop scripts, ensure coverage, and improve overall system effectiveness—while balancing
business needs, ROI, and scalability
.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement
    automation test strategies & plans
    for low-to-medium complexity applications.
  • Design and develop
    automation frameworks
    using best practices (Page Object Model, design patterns).
  • Build, execute, and maintain robust
    test coverage matrices
    and regression testing approaches.
  • Lead
    defect management processes
    and improve defect documentation standards.
  • Oversee a team of
    2–5 engineers
    , guiding them throughout the SDLC.
  • Estimate efforts using industry-standard estimation techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliveries.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a
    quality-first mindset
    .
  • Act as
    primary POC
    for client meetings, managing communications, expectations, and escalations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 4–6 years
    of QE experience with distributed, scalable systems.
  • Strong programming skills in
    Java, Groovy, or JavaScript
    .
  • Expertise in at least one
    GUI-based automation tool
    (desktop/mobile); experience with multiple tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in
    SQL queries
    and automation framework design.
  • Hands-on experience with
    SOAP, REST, and microservices testing
    (Postman, RestAssured, SOAP UI, NodeJS).
  • Experience in
    CI/CD pipelines
    (Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of
    BDD/TDD
    (Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Knowledge of
    service virtualisation tools
    (CA Lisa, Pact Broker).
  • Exposure to cloud test environments (
    BrowserStack, Sauce Labs
    ).
  • Strong communication, client-handling, and decision-making skills.

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (full-time)
