The Cybersecurity Engineering group safeguards the organization by delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing systems that protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data. Our mission is to support cybersecurity objectives through innovative engineering solutions and secure operational practices.

As a Platform Engineer, you'll be reporting directly to an Engineering Chapter Lead working in our DevSecOps COE driving the adoption of DevSecOps practices, test automation, observability and reliability across Crews and squads.

To ensure the Group achieves sustainable competitive advantage through efficient service management, you will need to play a key role in supporting and executing the Groups cyber strategy.

You will be required to maintain and build productive relationships with:

• Business Stakeholders, Project Sponsor, Benefits Sponsor, Change Owner, and Project Steering Group
• Crew Leads and Chapter leads
• Business Analysts and Solution Designer
• Release Management Team

Roles & Responsibilities: -

• Provide strategic leadership in shaping the technical vision for DevSecOps, automation and reliability, driving innovation and best practices across our Crews and the Group.
• Lead and collaborate with platform engineering squads to enhance system reliability, performance, Observability and scalability through the implementation of DevSecOps practice.
• Establish patterns and practices for teams to consume AI.
• Work with squads to establish SLI/SLO for critical services.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of advanced automation solutions for continuous integration, deployment, monitoring, and incident response, ensuring a high level of system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Are experts in partnering with senior stakeholders and leading a culture of data-driven reliability, monitoring and automation.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the DevSecOps community.
• Champion the establishment and improvement of monitoring and alerting systems, employing tools such as Splunk, Grafana, to proactively identify and address performance issues.
• Drive Test modernisation through the implementation of automated frameworks, tools and practices.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipelines, platform, and applications.

Essential Skills: -
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• 15+ years of relevant IT experience
• Expertise working with AWS Infrastructure.
• In depth understanding of scripting/programming languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python etc, as well as good Windows/Linux Server experience.
• Expertise working with Infrastructure as Code e.g Lambda, Cloudformation, CDK, AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline highly regarded.
• Experience with and knowledge of CI/CD and automation tools like Github, GitHub Action, TeamCity, CI/CD pipeline desirable.
• Experience using GenAI models, agents, MCP.
• Automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
• Source control, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub actions, Jenkins, Octopus
• Python and scripting languages such as Bash & Powershell.
• Infrastructure as code pipelines and automation.
• Observability with Grafana and Prometheus.

Education Qualification:
Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
