Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and terms, collaborating with design and production teams, staying informed about market trends and innovations, and managing the fabric procurement process from sample approval to inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management:Finding, evaluating, and building relationships with fabric suppliers, and developing multiple suppliers for critical fabrics to ensure backup options.
- Market Research:Conducting market research to stay updated on industry trends, innovations, sustainable practices, and emerging fabric technologies.
- Negotiation:Negotiating prices, quantities, and delivery timelines with suppliers to secure favorable terms and cost-effective solutions.
- Collaboration:Working closely with design, product development, and quality control teams to understand fabric requirements and ensure specifications are met.
- Quality Assurance:Evaluating fabric samples and approving them for production to ensure they meet the highest quality, durability, and other standards.
- Logistics and Delivery:Monitoring and ensuring the on-time delivery of fabrics to meet production schedules.
- Budget Management:Managing budgets for fabric procurement and exploring cost-saving opportunities.
- Inventory Management:Overseeing fabric inventory levels and optimizing procurement processes.
