Job Summary:

As a SQA Engineer, you will lead testing efforts to ensure that our mobile apps deliver exceptional performance, usability, and stability. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with development teams, business analysts, product managers, and designers to identify, isolate, and report issues while promoting best practices for mobile app quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Test Strategy & Planning: Develop and drive test strategies, plans, and schedules for mobile applications across both iOS and Android platforms.

• Mobile App Testing: Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing for iOS and Android applications, ensuring a seamless user experience across devices and operating systems.

• Cross-Platform Testing: Ensure consistent behaviour and UI across multiple device types, screen sizes, and OS versions for both iOS and Android.

• Bug Identification & Reporting: Identify, log, and prioritize defects in tracking systems like JIRA, providing clear and actionable steps to developers for issue resolution.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and UI/UX designers to ensure quality is embedded throughout the product lifecycle.

• Backend API Testing: Perform testing on backend services and APIs. Validate the integration of mobile applications with backend APIs, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance.

• Test Documentation: Create and maintain detailed test cases, test scripts, and documentation for manual and automated tests.

• Mentorship: Mentor junior QA engineers, providing guidance and sharing best practices for mobile app testing.

• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of the QA process, improve existing testing methodologies, and stay updated on industry trends and new tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 2+ years of experience in quality assurance with at least 4 years focused on mobile application testing (both iOS and Android).

• Platform Knowledge: Deep understanding of iOS and Android operating systems, as well as their respective app stores, installation processes, and deployment workflows.

• Testing Tools: Proficiency with mobile testing frameworks and tools such as Appium, XCTest, Espresso, or others.

• Cross-Browser/Device Testing Tools: Hands-on experience using cloud-based testing platforms like BrowserStack, LambdaTest, or similar tools for cross-device and cross-browser testing.

• API Testing: Proficiency with Postman or similar API testing tools for validating RESTful APIs. Experience in backend API testing and ensuring smooth communication between mobile apps and backend systems.

• Manual Testing Expertise: Strong experience in manual testing for mobile applications, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.

• Bug Tracking Tools: Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.

• Cross-Browser/Device Testing: Experience testing apps across various devices and OS versions, using emulators, simulators, or real device farms.

• Agile Methodology: Strong understanding of Agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban) and experience working in Agile teams.

• Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively articulate test plans, issues, and solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Experience with mobile testing

• Familiarity with backend testing and APIs (e.g., using Postman or REST Assured).

• Experience with A/B testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
