Overview:
The Ophthalmic Technician will assist in delivering comprehensive eye examinations and diagnostic procedures to support preventive and longevity-focused eye care. The role combines technical expertise and customer care with a focus on early detection of age-related eye conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic eye tests including visual acuity, refraction, tonometry, fundus photography, OCT, perimetry, and other relevant procedures.
- Prepare and maintain ophthalmic instruments, ensuring proper sterilization and calibration.
- Educate customers on eye care practices, preventive screenings, and lifestyle measures to protect vision.
- Support longevity programs by identifying early signs of age-related conditions (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy).
- Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and clinical protocols.
Qualifications:
- Diploma / Degree in Ophthalmic Technology (DOT/B.Sc. Optometry or equivalent).
- Certification/registration as per local regulations.
- 1–3+ years of experience in an eye hospital/clinic (experience in preventive screenings preferred).
- Hands-on experience with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
- Strong interpersonal and customer-handling skills.
- Interest in preventive health, longevity medicine, and vision preservation.
