Position Overview
The AI Director is responsible for leading the strategic direction, development, and implementation of Artificial Intelligence initiatives across the organization. This role oversees AI-driven innovation, manages AI/ML teams, ensures ethical use of technology, and drives adoption of AI solutions to improve business performance, efficiency, and customer experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesAI Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization's long-term AI strategy aligned with business goals.
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI solutions in products, operations, and services.
- Oversee AI roadmap, prioritizing high-impact projects.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure company-wide AI adoption.
Technical Oversight
- Guide the development of AI/ML models, NLP systems, computer vision solutions, automation pipelines, and predictive analytics.
- Review and validate AI architectures, algorithms, and datasets.
- Ensure robust model performance, accuracy, and scalability.
- Drive best practices for AI engineering, MLOps, and data governance.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor teams of data scientists, ML engineers, AI researchers, and data engineers.
- Recruit and build a high-performing AI team.
- Provide technical leadership and support continuous learning.
AI Governance, Compliance & Ethics
- Establish ethical AI frameworks, security protocols, and compliance standards.
- Implement transparent and explainable AI practices.
- Coordinate with legal, cybersecurity, and compliance teams for responsible deployment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with product, engineering, operations, marketing, and business units to identify AI use cases.
- Communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive change management for AI implementation.
Innovation & Research
- Stay updated with the latest AI technologies, trends, and research.
- Evaluate new tools, platforms, and techniques for adoption.
- Represent the company in AI conferences, industry forums, and partnerships.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and generative AI.
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and cloud AI platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with MLOps, model deployment, and data pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data engineering, data architecture, and big data tools.
Leadership Skills
- Proven experience leading AI/ML teams or innovation programs.
- Strong decision-making, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in AI/ML roles, including leadership positions.
- Successful track record delivering enterprise AI projects.
- Experience in scaling AI initiatives within mid-to-large organizations.
