Key duties include setting strategy, negotiating contracts, managing vendors, monitoring inventory, and reporting to leadership, focusing on cost savings, quality, and reliability. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement overall purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures to align with business goals.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, vet, negotiate with, and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers for optimal pricing, quality, and delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage the purchasing team, including buyers and agents.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Control the purchasing budget, analyze costs, find savings, and ensure cost-effective acquisitions.
  • Process Optimization: Oversee the entire procurement cycle, from requisition to delivery, and ensure efficient operations.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as shortages or delays.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports and metrics for senior management on purchasing performance.

  • Reviewing and processing purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers.
  • Evaluating vendor performance (quality, timeliness, reliability).
  • Managing inventory levels and forecasting needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
