Purchase Executive – Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to join our procurement team. This is a junior-level position responsible for handling day-to-day purchasing activities such as creating purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining purchase records.

The Purchase Executive will work closely with production, stores, and accounts teams to ensure materials, services, and supplies are purchased on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Create purchase orders as per approved requirements and budget
  • Coordinate with suppliers for quotations, pricing, and delivery timelines
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Maintain records of purchase orders, invoices, quotations, and supplier details
  • Update purchase data regularly in Excel or ERP/software
  • Check purchase documents for basic errors before sharing with the accounts team
  • Track order status and inform concerned teams about delays or issues
  • Support emergency or urgent purchase requirements when needed
  • Assist in preparing monthly purchase reports
  • Ensure purchased materials meet company quality and specification requirements
  • Follow company purchasing policies and basic legal/compliance requirements

Requirements

  • Graduate in commerce, business, or a related field (freshers can also apply)
  • 1–2 years of experience in purchase or procurement (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Basic understanding of the purchasing and procurement process
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
  • ERP or procurement software knowledge is an advantage
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work with suppliers and internal teams
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Good time management and organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18, ₹25,000.00 per month
