The Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth, reliable, and cost-effective functioning of all plant machinery and utilities. This role is essential to minimizing downtime, increasing machine availability, and supporting our mission of delivering on-time, high-quality products to customers.

The Maintenance Engineer will handle both preventive and breakdown maintenance, support continuous improvement initiatives, and monitor key reliability metrics like MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures). Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role demands technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and effective coordination with production and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure reliable functioning of CNC, VMC, HMC, Cranes, VLM, and other shop-floor machinery.
• Schedule and execute preventive maintenance activities as per OEM guidelines.
• Carry out breakdown maintenance with quick diagnosis, repair, and restoration of machines.
• Maintain detailed machine history records and preventive/breakdown logs.
• Plan and coordinate shutdown maintenance to minimize production disruption.
• Monitor and improve MTTR & MTBF metrics to enhance plant reliability.
• Manage utilities such as HVAC, DG Set, RO Plant, Solar Plant, Fans, and Blowers.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for breakdowns and drive corrective/preventive measures.
• Track spare parts inventory and coordinate with purchase/stores for timely availability.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and carry out periodic safety checks.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance without hampering targets.
• Prepare and share reports on maintenance activities, downtime analysis, and utility performance.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of CNC, VMC, HMC, Cranes, VLM.
• Expertise in utility systems: HVAC, DG Set, RO Plant, Solar.
• Preventive maintenance planning & execution.
• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques.
• MTTR/MTBF monitoring and improvement.
• Ability to read technical manuals and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with ERP/CMMS systems for scheduling and reporting.

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Strong coordination and teamwork with production and support functions.

Experience

• 24 years of hands-on industrial machinery/plant maintenance experience.

Qualification

• B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.

Knowledge

• Preventive and breakdown maintenance practices.
• MTTR/MTBF tracking and downtime analysis.
• Spare parts planning and vendor coordination.

Technology and Tool Expertise

• ERP/CMMS Systems
• MS Excel (Reports/Logs)

Physical Requirement

• On-site presence in shop-floor and plant areas.
• Standing/walking for long durations; handling heavy tools/machines.
• Emergency availability during breakdowns.
