Position: Junior Analyst

Location: Mumbai

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Experience Required: 1 to 3 years

Client: global intelligence and fact checking company

Key Responsibilities
  • Use our in-house intelligence platforms to surface and assess MDM trends, emerging narratives, and influence operations.
  • Assist in detection and analysis of coordinated inauthentic behavior (CIB), manipulation techniques, and foreign influence activity.
  • Investigate actors, networks, and narratives using a mix of automated tools and manual OSINT/SOCMINT research.
  • Produce clear, client-ready intelligence outputs, situation reports, trend analyses, weekly summaries and ad-hoc briefs.
  • Maintain and refine Boolean queries, keyword dictionaries, and language-specific monitoring parameters in the platform.
  • Create data-driven artefacts (actor/network maps, timelines, keyword trend charts) to support findings.
  • Work closely with senior analysts, delivery and product teams to ensure insights are actionable, accurate and aligned with client requirements.
  • Adhere to ethical handling of sensitive information and follow established process and quality controls.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
  • 1–3 years' relevant experience in SOCMINT, information analysis, or intelligence-adjacent roles.
  • Good understanding of online information ecosystems, information operations and digital research techniques.
  • Knowledge of MDM, disinformation, foreign influence operations or information warfare.
  • Strong working knowledge of Boolean logic and structured keyword design.
  • Excellent written communication in English; fluency in Marathi language is a plus.
  • Demonstrable interest in geopolitics, security studies or digital threats.
  • Practical experience with OSINT/SOCMINT or intelligence tools (examples: Maltego, Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Dataminr, Meltwater or similar).
  • Strong documentation, synthesis and reporting skills.
Preferred
  • Academic or professional background in political science, international relations, or security studies.
  • Familiarity with analytical frameworks (e.g., DISARM, MITRE ATT&CK for influence operations, intelligence cycle).
  • Experience with spreadsheets, visualization tools or basic scripting (Python, R).
  • Internships, research or work experience at media, think tanks, government or security organisations.
