Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Python Developer with strong expertise in Python, Pandas, and SQL/Oracle, and a solid understanding of data modelling. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Banking IT systems, particularly in Corporate and Institutional Banking, with the ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement robust, maintainable, and high-performing Python applications.
  • Work with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server, ensuring optimized query performance.
  • Develop and maintain data models to support analytical and operational requirements.
  • Utilize Pandas, NumPy, and other Python libraries for data processing and transformation.
  • Automate tasks using Windows Batch or PowerShell scripting.
  • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile or Waterfall methodologies and best development practices.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and continuously enhance technical expertise.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Python and its core features:

  • Data types, functions, keyword/default/variable arguments

  • Object-oriented programming (OOP) and magic methods

  • File handling, regex, collections, and generators

  • Proficiency in SQL and working with Oracle or SQL Server databases.

  • Hands-on experience with Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation.
  • Good understanding of data modelling and database design principles.
  • Experience with Windows Batch or PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, and test-driven development practices.
  • Exposure to system design, database optimization, and application frameworks.

Domain Competencies

  • 2–5 years of experience in Banking IT, preferably in Corporate & Institutional Banking.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets is an added advantage.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • High learning agility and adaptability to new technologies.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with Python collections module and date/time manipulation.
  • Basic understanding of deployment automation and code review processes.
