We are seeking a highly experienced Mine Manager / Head of Mining Operations to lead and manage open-cast coal mining operations at our Tamnar site. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, regulatory, and operational expertise to ensure compliance, safety, and productivity in line with statutory and organizational standards.

Loaction: Tamnar, near Raigarh, Chhattisgarh

Key Responsibilities1. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Mines Act, CMR 2017, DGMS guidelines, environmental and labor laws.
  • Maintain all statutory registers, records, and returns as required.
  • Oversee validity and timely renewal of licenses, statutory approvals, and clearances.

2. Operations & Production

  • Manage daily mining operations including excavation, drilling, blasting, hauling, and dispatch.
  • Implement and monitor mine plans to achieve annual and monthly production targets.
  • Optimize operational efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

3. Safety & Risk Management

  • Lead implementation of the Mine Safety Management Plan (MSMP).
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Oversee safe operations in drilling, blasting, and equipment handling.
  • Foster a "Safety-First" culture through training and emergency preparedness.

4. Manpower & Equipment Management

  • Ensure optimal utilization of mining equipment and workforce.
  • Supervise statutory personnel such as overmen, foremen, engineers, and safety officers.
  • Ensure all statutory manpower and certifications are valid and compliant.

5. Environmental Management

  • Enforce compliance with Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and clearance conditions.
  • Oversee dust control, water management, waste handling, and reclamation activities.
  • Conduct periodic audits and ensure zero environmental violations.

6. Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

  • Liaise with DGMS, Pollution Control Board, Forest Department, and other authorities.
  • Represent the mine during inspections and statutory audits.
  • Prepare and submit operational and compliance reports to management and regulators.
  • Coordinate with corporate teams, local communities, and CSR/R&R units.

7. Cost & Innovation Management

  • Drive cost optimization, process improvement, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Implement industry best practices for efficiency and sustainability.
  • Promote innovation and skill development within the workforce.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mining Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Valid First-Class Manager's Certificate of Competency (Coal) – DGMS
  • 10–20 years of experience in open-cast coal mining operations
  • Strong knowledge of CMR 2017, DGMS norms, and environmental laws
  • Proven experience in production planning, safety management, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
