Snowflake Data Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Snowflake Data Engineer
 to design, develop, and maintain our scalable and high-performance data pipelines and warehousing solutions on the Snowflake platform. The ideal candidate will be an expert in data modeling, SQL, and Python, with deep, hands-on experience in
Snowflake architecture
 and its advanced features.

Key Responsibilities

·      
Design and Development:
 Design, implement, and optimize robust
data pipelines
 using
Python
 and advanced
SQL
 to ingest, transform, and load data into Snowflake.

·      
Snowflake Expertise:
 Utilize advanced Snowflake features, including
Snowflake Pipe
 (for continuous data loading), Streams, Tasks, and External/Internal Stages.

·      
Architecture:
 Leverage a deep understanding of the
Snowflake architecture
 (compute vs. storage, virtual warehouses, micro-partitions, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and cost management.

·      
ETL/ELT:
 Develop and maintain
ELT processes
 for real-time and batch data movement, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

·      
Performance Tuning:
 Optimize slow-running queries and data loads using
SnowSQL
 commands and Snowflake best practices.

·      
Collaboration:
 Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

·      
Governance:
 Implement best practices for data quality, security, and governance within the Snowflake environment.

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

·      
Experience:
 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field.

·      
Core Languages:
Must have
 advanced proficiency in
Python
 (for scripting, data manipulation, and pipeline orchestration) and expert-level
SQL
 skills.

·      
Snowflake Platform:
 Deep, demonstrable experience with the
Snowflake
 cloud data platform.

·      
Snowflake Features:
 Hands-on experience implementing and managing
Snowflake Pipe
 for continuous data ingestion.

·      
Command Line:
 Proficiency in using the
SnowSQL
 command-line client.

·      
Architectural Knowledge:
 Strong grasp of the core concepts and components of
Snowflake architecture
.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

·      Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

·      Familiarity with data governance tools and practices.

·      Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
